We have trouble with a VW Transporter 2.5 TDI 2006.
Two years ago it got the automatic transmission changed into a rebuilt transmission. After 20,000km it is overheated and the fluid is black.
The error codes for the transmission have been deleted by the local VW dealer, but the error code P1855 remains. The VAS reading is attached to this post. The vehicle is in Finland so we have not yet had the chance to go there to perform an auto-scan.
I can’t find any information about P1855 on the Ross-Tech Wiki, but perhaps you can give us a hint about it?
Could P1855 affect the transmission control unit in a way that it gets wrong values about torque, speed etc? The transmission needs to be changed again and it would be a shame if it breaks again.
