I have a Windows 7 upgrade. I can't find my XP full install disk, but, I do have a Windows 2000 full install disk. It is my understanding that I can use the Win7 upgrade with a machine with Windows 2000. I don't know if this holds true when running in Virtualbox.
I can create a Win2000 VB. If I start the Win2000 VB and then insert the Win7(32 bit) upgrade disk I get a message stating: 'Cannot install Windows 7 from the current operatin system. To install Windows boot from the installation media or upgrade to Windows XP SP2 or later and restart the installation.'
If I select Start/Shut Down/ Restart with the Win 7 installion disk in the computer and choose reboot from CD/DVD the installer starts loading files and the starting Windows sceen comes on for a moment and then the Windows Boot Manager screen appears which says:

When it says 'Insert your windows installation disk, choose language and then Repair your computer' I'm not sure which disk they are talking about. I tried booting from the CD with both the Win2000 and the Win7 disks with /storage/settings set to start from the CD. When I do this it just starts to run the installer and I get the message above. I found that pressing control+ f10 while booting the Windows 7 disk will start the disk check, but, that isn't working either.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
